go back for phone, wallet, charger?

No. Get out and stay out.

This chat stays plain on purpose. Smoke is not the place for the usual roast, emoji or workshop diagnosis. The useful answer has to survive panic and fit in one message.

Smoke means leave now

If a battery is smoking or on fire, raise the alarm, get out and stay out, call 995. Don’t stop to film it, unplug it or carry it through the house.

The question is no longer which cell, charger, BMS or connection started the problem. The emergency action does not wait for a photograph, group-chat vote or technical explanation. The person who noticed the smoke does not need to prove the cause before following the instruction.

No troubleshooting chapter

This article deliberately leaves out the kind of content riders normally expect from a workshop story. There is no connector check, no casing inspection and no attempt to move the pack somewhere “better”. Those would distract from the exact emergency instruction above.

The same boundary applies to the chat. The neighbour’s urge to film and the rider’s question about belongings are there because both pull attention back toward the scene. The answer stays the same: get out and stay out.

Cause comes later, not here

Smoke does not need a workshop theory before the emergency action begins. This article does not guess whether the cause was a cell, charger, connection, impact or water exposure. None of those guesses changes the instruction the rider needs at that moment.

Keeping the cause out also prevents a photograph from becoming fake proof. A picture of corrosion or untidy wiring might look dramatic, but it would not establish what caused a different smoking battery. The page therefore separates emergency guidance from any later evidence review.

Smoking or on fire?

Raise the alarm, get out and stay out, then call 995. Don’t stop to film it, unplug it or carry it through the house.

Why no photo? The current article images show a taped pack and poor-looking connections, not smoke or fire. An unrelated damage photograph would imply a connection the evidence does not establish.
